This might be our new favorite place to gravel bike!
Amazing gravel roads in great condition everywhere we went (and plenty more left unexplored)!
Quiet/low traffic even on Labor Day weekend.
Getting back to home base just in time to avoid a hail storm.
Not having cell phone reception to be able to check the weather before heading out.
Do this ride if you want to feeling removed from civilization while biking, but be close enough to get good coffee (The Perk).
It is always worth exploring even if you have no idea what you might be getting into (you can always turn around, right?). We came with a mapped plan which we ditched after we realized what a great place we landed for dispersed camping.
If you’ve looked at the elevation profile and are worried about falling off a cliff around mile 13, you can relax. Garmin had a satellite glitch which gave us some funny readings while collecting the elevation info. Our apologies!
